Breath Work Facilitation

Trauma deregulates our nervous system, pushing us into either hyper, or hypo-arousal, or both. Our nervous system functions primarily automatically, via our autonomic, sympathetic, and parasympathetic nervous systems. Eastern philosophy has been telling us for thousands of years, what the newest trauma-informed research is confirming. Breath Work is the key to regulating our nervous system. Learning the necessary, diaphramatic, breathing skills is VITAL to our healing journey. Breath Work is the first and easiest facilitated connection between you, your mind, your body, and spirit.

Mind-Body Connection

Through additional mind-body techniques, such as mind-body scanning, and tension release exercises, the necessary neuro-biological connections can be made, to assist in re-connecting and facilitating the processing of trauma. It is literally the rewiring of circuitry that may have been damaged due to traumatic experiences. Trauma research has shown, that the utilization of mind-body techniques, along with psychotherapy, greatly assists in the processing of trauma. Additional trauma-informed, mind-body recommendations include:

  • Yoga, Tai-Chi, Chi-Gong, Martial Arts, Dance, and Therapeutic Movement.

Energy Work

Even deeper mind-body-spiritual connection can be facilitated through the understanding of the Chakra System.
